National Football Museum takes down Michael Jackson statue from display amid sexual abuse allegations

The National Football Museum has taken down the statue of Michael Jackson which used to stand outside Fulham Football Club amid allegations of child sexual abuse against the late singer in the bombshell documentary, Leaving Neverland.

A spokesperson for the museum said they were planning to take down the seven and a half foot monument to the 'King of Pop' anyway as part of a reorganization of their exhibits.
The spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News: 'Plans have been underway for a number of months to remove the Michael Jackson statue from display as part of our ongoing plans to better represent the stories we want to tell about football. As a result of this, the statue has now been removed.'
The statue was built outside Craven Cottage by Fulham's former owner, Mohamed Al Fayed, after Jackson's death aged 50 in 2009.
