Mark Hughes has finally ended his striker search by landing Wilfried Bony.
Bony has arrived at Stoke’s Clayton Wood training complex to seal a loan move to the Potters after Hughes gave up on long-term target Saido Berahino. Hughes knew his chances of landing Berahino in a club record £20million were receding fast and yesterday moved for Bony.
Manchester City have been trying to find a club for Bony all summer and Hughes feels the Ivory Coast hitman can beef up his attack.
Bony, 27, scored 25 Premier League goals in 54 appearances for Swansea before his ill-fated £28million move to City in January 2015.
Bony’s arrival could pave the way for Joselu to leave and the forward is not part of Hughes’ first-team plans.
